Excellence in Management Systems

PCS quality management systems and processes have been ISO-9001 certified and our environmental management systems and processes have been ISO-14001 certified. PCS was certified by Orion Registrars. Our internal certified staff includes an ISO Auditor, ISO Coordinator and Document Records Control Coordinator.

ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 state generic requirements for management systems implemented by any organization, in any sector of activity. They apply to the processes that an organization employs to realize its products or services – in other words, the way it accomplishes its work and meets the customers’ requirements. ISO 9001 applies to the processes that influence product or service quality, and ISO 14001 to the processes that influence the organization’s environmental performance.

In 2014 PCS earned the OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series) certification which promotes a safe and healthy working environment by providing a framework and standard for developing and implementing an occupational health and safety (OHSAS) policy and objectives, taking into account legal requirements and risks.

Electronics Recycling

PCS has also been certified against the R2 standard. The R2 Standard sets forth requirements relating to environmental, health, safety, and security aspects of electronics recycling and requires e-recyclers to assure that more toxic material streams are managed safely and responsibly by downstream vendors-all the way to final disposition.

The R2 standard focuses on the performance of electronics recyclers in the following areas:

• Environmental and public health
• Worker health and safety
• Security (data and facility)
• The whole of the recycling process and chain of custody of materials through final disposition
